The unsaintly behavior of saints is not so uncommon. First un(saint) Asha Ram. Now we have another militant (un) saint Rampal.  Rampal is considered 'God' by him and his followers. But this coward unsaint or God is using men, women and children as cover to escae arrest.

Is 'clean saint' not more necessary than 'clean filth' .

I agree with you all such people belonging to any religion should be brought to book. This is now crossing all limits as all these so called saints belonging to different sects supported by politicians for last 65 years for the sake of  vote bank politics. Look the way the Imam of jama Masjid calling prime minister of Pakistan, jehadis from ISIS, Al quaida etc operating so openly is shame for this country and its secular image.

There are a number of self-proclaimed God men in our country, cheating common people in the name of religion and God. Their immoral revelry exceeds the limit and they are defaming our spiritual values with a belief that money and political influence will protect them forever. It’s time for the concerned authorities to take stringent actions against these fake gods.

It is rightly said that Religion is the opium of the masses, otherwise it makes no sense to see how the various relifgious leaders function the way they do....The government should take strict actions against all religious leaders , no matter what religion they belong to, when they go out of turn and become the cause of criminal offences and cause  disturbances to the normal functioning ..

Many fraudulent persons are using religion to cheat people as this is the easiest way. There are many who follow blindly any one operating in garb of religious saint or godman.

The faith on saints is reducing day by day and true saints are suspected by people. If one wants to become famous he is taking the charge as a religious leader or to become as a politician.

We have yet to learn from countries like China, Russia and Australia where no religious activities are allowed in public. Your religious belief is your private business, keep it within the boundaries of your own home. Why should I listen to what you believe and shout loud using a loudspeaker. All trash deserves to be trashed immediately.

In our country many a men and women cheat and dupe people in the name of religion. Even though the real picture of such babas have come to the forefront, I amazed that still some people choose to believe such fraud babas and self-proclaimed religious leaders.

I would second that since I personally feel that religion is a personal preference and should not become a nuisance to others and any public display that can become the cause of civil disturbance should be banned completely..

At last the Baba has been arrested. Police had to act cautiously in view of big number of folowers including women and children held as hostage in the ashram.  Now is the time to ban all private buildings of these babas. Why should they need vast ashrams and buildings for preaching.  It is true that many like to listen to these Babas and follow them. They have the need to get fooled by such stupidities. But even stupid have their freedom.  So Babas shoud be allowed to preach and perform other activities only in temporarily hired buildings or public places like townhalls, vanant lands etc.  There is no sense in building of big ashrams by them.

No I don't think any public place should be allotted to any religious function that mars the basics of secularism itself. Why should anyone air his/her thoughts in public places which might not be acceptable to others. The places you mentioned are for the welfare of public and not to fill their minds with trash that may or may not be acceptable to all.

sunil- using public places on payment of rent temporarily is not so risky as the privately owned and managed ashrams. I don't say that the preachers be given any public place free of charge. Their sermon is also an event and like all other eents they can hire grounds, hotel space or other places and give the sermons. Crimes in private ashrams can be avoided this way. I favor abolition of private ashrams.
