Is it right that top politicians like Lalu, Jayalalitha and others keep on receiving VIP treatments even after they have been convicted of a crime? Is this not a gross misuse of power? This is a provision provided for them under the law crafted by the previous government which I personally feel should be amended. They shd wait their turn like all other citizens instead of being gven preferrential treatment...

Very true. As you said all thees discrepancies in the laws are crafted by the previous regime only to suit their Kin. They know, their party is loaded with corrupt politicians. Hence this preferential treatment.
Please clarify what preferential treatment they get. Is this in traffic or house allotment or what? Please also state what are the rules that you seek amendent. She is no more C.M. and hence is naturally not eligible for any facilities available to C.M. Posibly, ther may be spme privieges of ex C.M. do you say that privieges as ex C.M. if any should be withdrawn?

Once a politician is convicted he is nothing but a criminal. Providing special bed, allowing home made food are certainly preferential treatments. These facilities should not be provided, even though they are ex -CMs.

some faciities are security related. The ex C.M. needs more security which jail authroitis have to provide. The facilities provided are according to jail manual. Now the position is clear. The Jail manual needs amendment. Except security, there need be no special privileges.

Until law permits they will utilize it on their favor. Lawyers are finding the solution for all problems in law for the growth of their life but not for the nation.

The problem is that people are ready to put up with such things, can be seen by the way they fall at the feet of the politicians and are ready to overlook anything they do because they are powerful. this is because of lack of education and awareness and also being ignorant of their own rights which the politicians take advantage of..

And people are after the politicians in power.. It's mutual. People swarm around people in power. And politicians exploit the this weakness in the people.

I agree. There is tendency to blindly follow not only politicians but also religious gurus and film stars. Sant Asha Ram is still almost worshipped by his followers even amidst his arrest for molestatio of a girl as young as could be his grand daughter. I also remember that many amitabh Bachan followers demonstrated before income tax ofices protesting against notice sent to him. Thi is slavish mentality to which many fall prey.

This behavior is individual Idolization. People feel that their favorites are gods and demigods. In this process, they commit suicides. This trait you see not only in llliterates! But also in literates.
