The survey report says that it will negatively impact the kerala tourism...not sure why people equate holidaying and relaxing with boozing.

This is natural. wine, woman and song are part of any holiday trip. That is how this differs from pilgrimage.

As per the survey the people in the age group of 18-24 said No in the ratio of 6:4. This is the age that people get bad habits to learn. They said no its a welcome one. This shows that younger generations are getting awareness about the drinks and its effects. It is the time for the elder people to stop drinks and spend the time with family. If a person gives values to his family he never drink. People are visiting the places with family to enjoy the nature and its beauty not for drinks. I hope Kerala will get more tourist people here on-wards.

Well, not everybody including the people in the survey..believe this..wine..woman..song..order, also if boozing is the primary objective..people need not venture out and go for a holiday, they can do this right in their city , which ever place they reside.
There will be licence given to hotels and resorts where tourists stay like they have in Gujrat which is also a dry state. But on the whole banning liquor only helps black marketing and spurious liquor illegally made and sold..
There can be chances of black marketing but still there will be fear for law of land.
Tourism will not be affected by prohibition. And its a wrong notion to think all foreigners come to India for drinking and merry making. For those foreign tourists there are always "permits" in which there are several Bars.
Even in Pilgrim centers, the Rush for tourism did not affect. In Tirupati, the richest Shrine in the country was never affected, though there severe restrictions on drinking. foreign tourists are enlightened tourists who do their home work before they enter India..
