Of course, this is an old issue. We have been hearing the saying, " There is no formula for Happiness" for years. But the advanced technology made it possible now. The exact formula for Happiness is here. And that is a heartening news.
The formula for happiness found by scientist is good. Basically the happiness will come to the people who are adopting the policy of keeping patience and reduce angry.

What you said is the reasons for happiness. But the scientists found a Mathematical formula for happiness like 2 multiplied by 2 equals 4.
I am sure there is a lot of fact in the formula since it has been tested on 18,440 particiapnts which is a fair sample ! But ultimately happiness is a state of mind and one can never be happy all the time, we keep fluctuating in our feelings depending on the circumstances !

Yes, I agree with you, though by using a formula happiness can now be measured..but is a state of mind, obviously we tend to feel low and not so happy at times.

Though happiness is a state of mind, the formula helps in making amends in clear terms about your unhappiness. Then the remaining job is yours.

Keeping low expectation from self and others goes a long way to keep us happy..as mentioned in the article..which is true.

If you want to be happy don't look towards others for validation. You should rise up to your own expectations . And these expectations should be implemented in small increments. Don't bite more than what you could swallow.
Happiness depends us. Whatever happens we need to be calm and patient. By thinking what to do next will reduce the stress in oneself.
Learning from the past, living in the present and avoiding thinking about future is the secret of happiness.
We all know and preach about how one can be happy..but still find ourselves caught in the web of unhappiness sometime or the other. It is but natural..highs and lows are part and parcel of our life.
Knowing that Highs and Lows are part of life and showing equanimity towards them, it self is secret of happiness.
For me best formulae of happiness stay in present, think of now and shred past and do not formulate action for future.

Past should become history..this formula is an important ingredient for happiness. A little bit of future planning helps but not far fetched plans, which if unfulfilled makes one unhappy. So it is indeed correct to stay and enjoy the here and now.

That's why wisemen say, "" PRESENT is the present bestowed on humanity ." make use of it for eternal Happiness.
Happiness is subjective and no formula can measure this. Howver I have a way to measure the materialist happiness in monetary terms. This is measured by the ratio of your needs to your possession. If you need just Rs. fifty thousand for your needs but you have one lac, your happiness is 2(TWO). But if you had only Rs. 50,000/- your happiness is one. If you had 25,000 only, your happiness would be half or 50%.

Of course you gave a simple way to measure the happiness. I agree happiness is relative. Not absolute.

It is easy to measure materialist happiness..but otherwise emotional happiness is difficult to measure. It is subjective as you have mentioned.
Staying present and keeping oneself busy doing some useful work without being idle is the secret of happiness.

Yes, an empty mind is a devil's workshop and now an empty mind is a unhappy abode..or so we can say. Indulging in useful activity of any kind keeps your worries and unhappiness at bay.
