Should mobiles be banned in schools

I personally endorse the view that Mobiles shd be banned inside classrooms and not just in schools but in universities too...They shd switch it off and leave it out while entering the classroom , thats what we do in our school. However, they can use it after class hours..

What is the need of mobile phone in school... It should be banned.. It is responsibility of both teacher and parent to take keep eyes on their children.

If phone is in the hand of children, they must misuse it... Keep all phone in school Office or Just band it in School Campus....

Yes, First Mobile Phone is not allowed in Schools.. If it is necessary for student to carry mobile phone. Give a very simple mobile phone to student that is used only for calling. Not for other purpose.

A lame excuse. Instead of calling the student parent should contact the head of the school or class teacher.

I strongly believe that mobile phones be banned in schools and work places. Urgent messages can always be received and sent on college/ office fixed phone with knowledge of aadministration. This will avoid wastage of time in gossip and enable all to give full attention to work or study. .

It used to be a lame excuse but now no more. Recently we see and hear so many horrible incidents happening to students that were caused due to negligence of school authorities and sometimes serious cases of abuses by school teachers, peons etc. being suppressed by school authorities. Recently, in the month of March, a school girl of about 6 was raped by school bus driver and bus attendant within the school premises at 9 in the morning. When the parents complained , the school principal took their side but she was pressured by management to shut up and parents were offered money. But the PTA members sided with parents and the case was brought in the media. This has nothing really to do with mobiles, but my point is that in order to feel safe, the parents need to be able to connect with their child any place at any time.Children too need that assurance now!

I think mobiles should not be given to the students. It should be a responsibility of both teacher and parents that the students are not using mobiles, if they want to use mobiles it should be in the knowledge of parents that for what purpose their kids are using mobiles.

The simple Thumb rule is to know if the cell phone is required. This aspect is known by simple observation. If it's a crime prone area, yes keep a phone handy to stay connected. If not carrying a cell phone for the sake of show is meaningless.
