Is forcing ventilator on some body who is dying and beyond cure not cruelty and assault on him. Is this not the time we consder benefot of euthanasia for the seriously critical patients who are beyond cure and for whom life is worse than death. Euthanasia will also spare facilities for othe patients.

I am seriously for euthanasia, keeping somebody alive by putting on various medical equipments and medicines, when it is clearly visible that chances are thin that the person in question will survive, in such a situation euthanasia in consultation with the person in question should be legalized and allowed.

For any one whose death is imminent and is on the last stages of life ,Euthanasia is much preferred and should be allowed than to die with pain and torture all along the life.
It is more painful to see your loved ones in pain, praying each day for their peaceful exit from this world for once and for all than to see them dying each day slowly.

Quicker the end lesser will be the diseased person's trauma and grief and pain of his near and dear ones.

However the laws have to be framed in a proper way as it is possible that in connivance with doctors many a normal patient will also be subjected to euthanasia route for ulterior motives. A society which kills girls at birth or before with impunity will not think twice of misusing euthanasia to kill elders through the hospital route.

If laws have to be framed let them frame. The law should ensure the facility is properly utilized and granted to the genuine needy persons.

A very valid point ..a law which is applicable to all will not work here..instead each case should be looked at and dealt with objectivity and not generalized. Looking at the severity of the ailment proper law should be laid down.

That's the minimum the law framers are supposed to ensure. Opportunitiists and law abusers look for the lose ends in the law. The lose ends are to be tied.

Otherwise we will soon see a quick decline of the elderly population..law abusers can weave numerous stories to shrug off parental responsibility using euthanasia as their weapon.

Yes. Definitely it's bound to happen. While framing the law all such possible aspects that lead to abuse are to be taken in to consideration.

A significant number of Indians are not afraid to'kill' unwanted persons whether young or old- after all a dip in the Ganga will cleanse them. So euthanasia is bound to be misused again by the educated class.

Dip in the holy river Ganga will not cleanse anyone of misdeeds or sins instead can infect you with numerous skin infections and stomach ailments.
Eiuthanasia is a genuine right of a suffering patient to die. Like any other good things it may also be abused. It's up yo the law makers to see that a law is framed where there is no scope for abuse. I know this is also difficult as Crime walks two steps ahead of law.. Criminals are more creative than our law makers.
