Now Andhra leader Naidu advises MLAs to follow Rama. But the achievements of Rama were when he was in exile for fourten years. soon after exil, he banished his wife. Politics is game of power whereas Rama relinquished power and went to forests. Is this not too much to expect today's politicians to follow Rama.

Barring his abandoning his wife, there are lots of sterling qualities that make Rama stand apart from most other rulers, his exploits of victory are not limited only to his period of exile of 14 years. His administration and governance after his return to the throne is exemplary and that is what Naidu is implicating for the politicians to emulate. So let us not misconstrue his words but take it in the right spirit.

Without being misunderstood, there does not seem to be any description of Lord Rama' s principles of administration except the widely used term "Ram Rajya".
Rama Rajya stands for ideal administration in all respects. His administration, like his arrow never misses the target. Here the target is a Welfare society.
Agreed but what were the parameters, how was it achieved, what was the model. Everyone says the previous regime was building a welfare state at state expense. Can we define Ramrajya or is it a myth.

Simply put, its Utopia.. Though Rama rajjya is a myth, the way in which Rama ruled his people are applicable to the modern times.

Chankaya has recorded hao administration should be run. manu has given laws. But we do not have any record of how to attain Ram rajya.

It's a myth I said. Hence there won't be any records. The only record about Rama Rajya is in Ramayana. Because its a myth, it doesn't mean the concept of Ramarajya should not be used. If its good and practicable accept it.

If Ramayana is read and understood well, it clearly indicates that fairness and justice to all prevailed. Women were safe and were not hurt or raped freely, there was plentiful of food for everyone etc. That is what is meant by Ramrajya. Since there are no written records about whether it truly existed or not, there still is Chanakya Niti that can be emulated which is probably no less than the Utopian concept of Ramrajya!

Ramayana is the biography of Lord Ram and essentially tells the story of his banishment to vanvasa and the subsequent struggle with Ravana to free Sita and his triumphant return to Ayodhaya. What I am basically seeking to know is where is the administration of
a kingdom written about in the Ramayana. Ramrajya is a myth developed by followers and not by Ramayana.

Read C.Rajagopalacharya's Ramayana. All your doubts will be clarified. Even the business schools started including in the curriculum about the ancient methods of administration including Geeta.
I have written an article with the title, "Treasurechests of Management lessons" for Boddunan. There you van find how Ramarajya has presented the ideal ways for good governance. You can go through that article.
All said and done I guess Ramrajya was far better than what we have today - Rama may not have been an ideal husband to Sita but as far as looking after his people gooes, he put them before his own self and his wife .How many of ur politicians are willing to do that ?
Present politicians put everything for themselves, families and their kin.
Ram Rajya can never truely be created since it is a utopia..having perfect rules, everything perfect is something which will take years to implement. However, as we know nothing is impossible..so following the few rules can definitely help upgrade the present political system.
In the second chapter, Ayodhya Kanda, topics related to good governance were dealt in detail. In the Sundara Kanda, topics related to Strategic Management were dealt. Here is an example. When the ‘Ocean God’ was behaving erratically, Rama asks his brother Laxmana to get his bow and arrow and shoot at the troubling Ocean God. Rama said, ‘creating fear is the way to deal with a person who refuses to heed the warnings.’ A great example of strategic management.
In Uttara Kanda, Human resource management was dealt in depth. Rama himself set an example by ‘Walking the talk’, maintaining humility and remaining unperturbed during the times of adversity.
Are these not the same traits required to be present in a CEO stipulated by the management gurus and the top ranking Business schools of today?

There is of course, no material in Ramayana or elesewhere about Rama's administration or Ram Rajya as aptly pointed out by a member. The business schools are actually learning from successful war management and war alliances made by Rama- and not his rule in Ayodhya.

Rama ruled from Ayodhya and in Uttara kanda and Ayodhya kand of Ramayana written by Valmiki deals in detail how a state has to be administered and how human resources are to be manged. It's an undeniable fact.

Frankly, haven't got a chance to read Ramayana..but what you have mentioned can certainly be followed by any present day CEOs.

Why not? Fact or fiction is immeterial. If there is a good thing even from Aesop's tales ,use it. There is nothing wrong.
Read Ramayana written by C. Rajagopalachari. This should be available in any good book stall. Or in a library.
