Not just coconut oil coconut is also very good for hair...In my place we never throw away coconut that is slightly rotten since it has certain mildue and fungus which is good for hair. We cut pieces of this and dry it in the sun for a day and keep it . A few of these pieces ground with methi seeds soaked in buttermilk is applied into the roots of the hair and left for an hour before shampooing and one can see how squeaky clean and glossy the hair becomes, you dont require a conditioner after that ...

Coconut oil is used in oil pulling. gargling with a spoonful for about 20 minutes, will freshen the breath., whitens the teeth and strengthens gums. It has antifungal and antibacterial properties.

In fact I read somewhere a tiny winy amount of coconut oil can be given to babies who are allergic. Some babies who are allergic to milk can be offered coconut milk too, it is healthy and anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory. However, right now I don't have any link to back up what I am sharing though.
