I agree. Rather I feel that banks should be open round the clock just like Railways, police stations. Staff can be given weekly rest by rotation and not on Sunday or any fixed day of week.

In fact now banks have cut down on staff since most transactions are computerised and tere are ATMs to take care of withdrawals and deposits, also online payments...I personally dont go to the bank unless needed since most transactions are done through ATM and the net. Howewver, it is good to know thge bank schedules and bank holidays beforehand..

Thanks for the information. Its very useful and saves time and helps us to save from disappointments when we visit banks and they are closed.

 

Helpful information, also, although banks operate on Saturdays, but I think the banks should follow half-day on any of the weekdays and work full-time on Saturdays, because most of us get time only on Saturdays to take up bank related tasks. Same goes for post-offices.

 

I think the banks should simply chane their working hours to evening/ nights to enable customers to bank at their off time.   

Do readers know that banks enjoy a huge list of holidays that is far in excess of those who work in industrial establishments, who get to enjoy just nine days in a year.  Of course, one can always choose what nine holidays will be applicable, but that is it.  I think a day should come, when banks should also have just nine holidays like the industrial establishments.  After all, banks also operate like an industry.
