It’s my habit to go to bed exactly by 9.45 pm every day and settle with a book of my favourite author. Within minutes I fall asleep.
But my wife sees TV along with our neighbor and sleeps at about 10.30 pm.
My sleep was interrupted when I felt my cot moved making a rumbling noise.
My wife and my neighbor were so engrossed in their chat that they did not hear the rumbling sound. Then I called my wife and informed about the tremors I felt. Both the ladies dismissed and laughed it off.
Next day headlines carried the news, Earth tremors in coastal Andhra. Intensity 6.0 on Richter scale.

The ladies laughed but you had the last laugh. The intensity of the tremors was mild and so many could not feel this.
Of course the intensity was less in my place. But there are several localities in my place where the intensity was more. People rushed out of their residences and spent the remaining part of the night on the roads.
I was watching news channels when it started to flash but I did not feel any tremors or shocks. No one in neighborhood showed any signs as well. although I am just 60 km away fro Delhi.
The extent of tremors varied from place to place. East coast felt the maximum tremors. People in Vizag came out of their residences and they stayed in the streets till midnight
