We entered the coalition era with decline of Congress. Now there is again single party majority. Is this end of coalition era or just one time event? However, despite single party majority, there is still coalition in name of NDA.

India has seen single party majority after 25 years. The word coalition is invented by the power hungry groups who want to take the reins of the government by hook or crook.
If Narendra Modi government steers the country towards development in all spheres, we can say it's the swansong for coalition governments.
It is a change now but one can never predict what the future holds. I personally feel that a coalition with 3 or 4 parties is good for democracy since there is a balance kept without any one party becoming dominant. Thats what happened in the past 10 years when most of the UPA allies made nosie for all the wrong reasons and looked the other way when it was big time scam by the Congess party...
Modi, though doesn't need a coalition, he is inviting allies like TDP into his cabinet. He has taken that part in to consideration. He's a visionary.

'coalition' is not a word coined by Indian politicians. This is international. There are coalition governments in other countries also. Coalition becomes necessary when no single party gets majority. There is nothing unethical in coalition government as such.

Of course there is nothing unethical in the practice of coalition. But to keep the partner parties in the coalition as a single unit lot of unethical activities will take place. In a single party rule it doesn't happen unless there is dissedence.

In a single party also, there are problems unless the leader is very strong. Varous factions emerge even in a single party. As a matter of fact, single or coalition is an issue that depends on numbers in parliament.

That's what i said. In a single party rule also there are chances of rebels and dissidents. Only ability of the leader can solve the problem.

It will be one time event if government fails to deliver what it has promised, otherwise scenario will be the same.

One party rule is not a new thing for India. The people have seen the evils of Coalitions. Then now came the one party rule has come up. This very fact says that the people weighed the pros and cons and decided to opt for one party rule. This indicates that 'Single Party Government " has come to stay.

You never know, although chances are remote in near future. But one thing is for sure, no party will dare act the way they have done in the past.

We certainly know about the mood of the people. Much earlier to the elections, all exit polls in one single voice indicating a single party rule. I feel people realised the importance of single party rule after seeing the chaotic conditions associated with Coalitions. The era of coalitions certainly came to an end.
Era of coalition are over, it is the era of BJP and Modi.
People are vexed with "Khichidi" governments formed with the non- entity parties whose aim is to grab the power and earn money. Now the mood of the public stands testimony that Coalition governments days are over.

I wish there was only two party system in India and then evils of coalition would never have arrived in our country.

Two party system was there earlier. It's the opportunists and power mongers with an intention of staying in the power are responsible for the emergence of coalitions, though it's not new elsewhere.

Even a coalition formed with 3 or even 4 parties that have similar ideologies can be good for the country. But what we had until now was a chow chow where everyone has different ideas and keep threatening to pull out when their ideas are not encouraged - they seem more like a gang of rowdies than responsible leaders governing a nation ! Just imagine what would be our fate if there are no bureaucrats and advisory boards. I guess even they are shunted out when our netas want to do their own thing..
