We need write to the point. How can anyone 'clear files' in PMO or any other office. Influencing decisions is okay. Making such sweeping statement like 'someone unauthroizedly clearing files' obviously does not even need a discussion as this is too bizarre and not suitable for serious discussion.

This sounds exactly like Congress party which is good at shutting off any voice of dissent against it.As long as people praise the Gandhis esp the lady concerned things are fin, any word against her and her autocratic ways one is not supposed to speak, shows how democratic the party and its followers are ...

Any file cleared in PMO office by some body not entitled is obviously invalid and without force of law. The PMO has clearly rejected the book contents as untrue and imaginary. It makes no sense to discuss the absurdities that are being propagated. There is no need for PM to comment. Even simple common sense and elementary knowledge of ofice routine will clearly reveal the absurdities in the book.

That doesn't mean things did not happen as Baru claims they happen. And it is obvious that PMO will never accept the claims to be true, it is natural that they will deny it, after all, who in his right sense of mind will ever admit that they indulged in such mishappenings! One thing is definite, that Baru is a very senior reporter and a person of his calibre will not make such allegations if there was no truth in them!

A reporter may not be aware of bureaucratic procedure. A Secretary would never sign where a section officer should. Thus even secretary of ministry will not 'clear files' in his subordinate's office. But she would obviously be not making notes there like an officer in PMO. In case sonia Gandhi had done anything improper or illegal, the opposition would have filed cases in court against her and not just restricted themselves to futile exercise of writing books in subjective manner without any concrete evidence.

I agree with you. Who knows about the inner things than an erstwhile Press consultant than Sanjay Baru? And the congress denial is as natural as a cloud rains.

The real issue is that a good number of people in our country would like to follow the westminster model of government practised in Britain. There P.M. is all important. There is also a shadow cabinet headed by leader of opposition.

But we do not follow the westminister model fully. West minister model works only in two party system where party is not so significant. So our P.M. is not that powerful. Party President, alliance partners and the statutory body like National Advisory Council also play their role. Here at least Manmohan singh and Sonia Gandhi belong to same party. There is absolutely nothing wrong if the PM role is diluted by intervention of party organization and even by alliance partners. We remeber that in the first UPA, the Left parties also openely interfered in policy matters. This was also okay as they were giving outside support. But the main opposition party (saffron party) is controlled more by the parent organization at Nagpur. There is almost daily intervention in the saffron party governments from the Nagpur Hq of the Holding company.

Legality and Sonia ? They are poles apart. Why do you think she refused PM's post in the beginning? Her plans are quite clear. She will be the rope puller and Mannu Bhai will be a puppet. She has inherited this trait from her Mother in law.. Like her she wanted puppets. Not power centers.

Perhaps it is authority without responsibility and in this election honorable PM is not campaigning more, also some times Priyanka Gandhi campaigns and goes out of scene once negative news about her hobby pops up byh news traders in media channels.
