Har Har - This term is used for Lord shankar and Ganges river by Hindus. Using this in any other context is clearly undesirable. You may say- Har Har Mahadev or Har har Gange. But not for any one.
Personally, I don't believe in any religion. But I feel that nobody should make mockery of the religious phrase or slogan. Strangely, supporters of the 'Hindutva party' were using this term or title for their leader in Varanasi. surprisingly, no body from that party even cared to stop this parody pf the sacred phrase. Now a Shankracharya, Hindu clergy man- has objected but the organization asserts that this was not done by them.

That is raised by the congress party supporter Shanracharya Swrupanand. Why Har Har is associated with any religion- What about Har Har Gange, Har Har Narmade, Har Har is associated whatever gives power to move, people are feeling Modi can move the country better so Har Har Modi but now Modi has asked his supporters to stop it in Varanasi. Besides this is not BJP's official slogan. The slogan is - Abki Var Modi Sarkar

You could see the real significance of words in the Hindu religious chantings, though you are a non- believer in Religion.
But why these so called High priests and self styled protectors of Hinduism could not see? Because these High priests are pseudo High priests hoodwinking the gullible people.

Yup.. that's wasn't slogan from party and that's what BJP is saying too.. I don't know more but if it is true then nothing controversial.

'har har ' is associated with Hindu, and particularly 'Mahadev' or 'Shankar'. Using this was inappropriate. That is why Modi has also asked followers not to use this. any way this is not real issue. Election should be on peoples' issues only.

That's but natural. BJP or any other party will first deny the allegations. Then they say Bad elements from the congress party entered the rally to defame BJP. This is a standard procedure adopted by all political parties.

So anything associated with Hindu is not acceptable? Or any thing religious is not acceptable? I think they should ban oath by Hindu religious books in courts or oath by legislative houses in the name of Hindu Gods.

Using religious slogan in electionering is inappropriate. Modi also understood this and hence gave proper advice to his followers. Moreover Har har Mahadev may be okay but to say Har Har (some other name) may not be appropriate. Even shankaracharya objected and his objection has been properly responded. Thus the matter is amicabley solved.

There are also congress men comparing an Italian lady Sonia Mainu who is a catholic by birth to Seeta and Durga which sounds even more ridiculous and has hurt the sentiments of many Hindus ....What happened above too is not something that is really needed since elections are meant to choose the right candidate and not one upmanship between candidates...Modi had the sense to ask his followers not to do so, but looks like the Italian lady is quite insensitive to such feelings of the majority population in the country...

I agree with you. In fact all the political parties which are a groups of Buffoons vie with each other to exhibit their Buffoonery before the public, especially during elections. In this regard at least Modi wa wise enough to have asked his caders after Varanasi rally not to use the slogan. But our congress buffoons are still in their fools paradise making mockery of themselves comparing 'AMMA' with Shakti.
I have been pretty busy of late, so didn't get time to go through this news. But yes, this is certainly not acceptable. And as we are speaking about it now, this could also be a publicity stunt........
My sincere advise is you should go through the news item given in the link. It gives a vivid picture how politicos are misusing the traditional chantings for their advantage.

Elections seem such a futile exercise since we are not going to be better off....It will the same people with same mind set, just that the parties are different ! The media at least is trying to do a good job by organising debates which are quite good. But inspite of telling the politician guests what is to be expected , we often see them going hammers and tongs at each other instead of sticking to issues...It shows that it is all about power rather than good governance !

Good governance is a word you find in the archives of political history. These jokers cannot bring it back Usha.instead they brought chaos and confusion to the nation. In this scenario as you said elections are an exercise in futility.

I wish to share another aspect. On english language channels, the debating politcians behave much better and speak in turn. But on Hindi channels, the quality of discussion is very poor and you can't listen anything as the debators continuously interupt each other.

It happens even on English channels I see Arnab Goswamy sometimes trying his level best to steer the discussion back on track because politicians insist on saying all they want which is most of the time rubbish or praising their own parties and degrading others..

All debates sound like 1000 crows singing a chorus. The difference is a chorus is a combination of concordant notes. Whereas the Debates are a combination of Discordant notes.

Since politicians are representetives of the nation , it only goes to show how indisciplined, uncultured and self centered we are as a population...
