Failure is when you give up. Great people never fail. They know it might be difficult now but they believe in their abilities and emerge victorious in the end. So to answer your question no they never failed because they never gave up.
That's true!! That is the stuff greatness is made of, isn't it? For any ordinary mortal it would have been curtains for them but not so for a person born great!!!
Let me add Abraham Lincoln in the list he failed at every level right from corporate level to higher elections for more than 20 years continuously but finally won at the age of 51 as vice presidency and never looked back. He even failed in his married life but nothing kept him back as finally emerged on top of all.

Yes Mahatma Gandhi is a great inspiration to all of us. He believed, you should not expect others to do the thing which you yourself would not do. He was a man of action. He always lead by example.
