I find th entire case bizzare, dint the woman know she was marrying a christian ? Marry in haste and regret for life ...I agree with what the family court said and also high court,people should become more mature and responsible before thinking of marriage, it is not a game to be taken so lightly...

I uphold the judgment. Hindu marriage act is very clear that at the time of marriage both should be Hindus and the marriage held according to Hindu rites and rituals.
This is very strange. Then the person might have claimed for divorce under Non-Hindu law. This makes law very confusing regarding such cases.
If they had gone in for a registered marriage there would have been no such confusion..It is because the marriage was according to Hindu rites that all the confusion about religious law arises ...
