India diplomat maltreated in U.S.A.

An Indian diplomat has been maltreated in U.S.A. There is wide spread protest and anger agaist racist and uncilvilized behavior. India also takes some retaliatory steps.

While expressing my anger towards the uncivilized USA, I'm glad that India retaliated with the same coin. All the employees of American embassy were put under scanner. Government has demolished the safety barricades near the American embassy yesterday. Diplomats special passes were withdrawn. Good to know we are learning lessons.

Still more actions needed, government will reply to this debate in RS tomorrow, currently discussion in RS going on, US inhuman action against senior IFS diplomat is against Geneva convention.

Step by step. Our resentment has been made visible in no uncertain terms. We have to wait till the reactions of the USA. It's a matter of the country and hastiness may prove counter productive.

They feel unsecured with the Indians. They are developing faster and becoming permanent resident of America.

I think we have to blame the central leadership for this more than anything ! The foreign policy is a total failure since the past ten years and they have been handling things so badly that USA has lost respect for this countrys politicians.The way we treat the terrorists with kid gloves and the statements that comes out of foreign minister ,who only knows to speak arrogantly to the Indian media, is shameful! He has been blundeting away and no wonder America takes our politicians and bureaucrats for granted ! Now suddenly they think that they can show their power after the deed is done and let us hope this does not backfire on us !

Compared to him, Meera Shankar etc. Ms. Khobragade is getting much more support from our govt. so why is Mayawati making such comments? :blink:

Abdul Kalam has become a pariah for congress since he is the one who told Sonia Gandhi that he will have to consult the supreme court before giving consent for her to bevome the PM...so they will do nothing to him !

So it does seem to be the case of trying to garner support from all factions in view of forthcoming elections! Otherwise, they would have taken similar efforts when others were maltreated by US officials. Anyway, the treatment that has been meted out to Ms Khobragade is really humiliating and unfair. From what i gathered from the on going debates on TV channels, it is one person Preet Bharara the Us attorney of Indian origin who is behind the mess up. There has been an issue with regard to Devyanis maid and her family immigrating and if they were allowed to do so, one can only blame the US immigration !That being the fact this Preet Bharara, who was hand picked by Obama, is too arrogant to apologise and apparently he has done such things before since he is supposed to be a committed India hater ! Talk about patriotism ( in his case American !!!) :dry:

The issue of maltreatment with Indian diplomat is not getting resolved. Americans are also adamant. The government there cannot interfere with legal process. The domestic help also needs be given justice in their view.

In fact now more skeletons are coming out about Devyani - She was favored right from the beginning even when she sat for the IFS exams in 1999 because of her political connections, and besides owning many other properties , she is also part of the Adarsh housing scam where she has been allotted an apartment...No wonder Congress is going all out to get her out !
