They are aiming at 272 plus out of 292 seats, in the 11 states in which they are banking upon, and rest left to NDA, so they are trying hard to reach 272 plus and even they are calling it mission impossible and nothing is impossible, and the way they have come to power in two big states in Hindi heartland and even in Delhi, they have managed to retain their place in spite of Kejriwal onslaught, justifies that it can be possible, in the article it is written India had voted in 77 similar way, so they are trying and the way they are cutting across Congress vote bank of Muslims, sc and sts, seems to suggest they are no longer party with single color, let us see what will happen, but congress is marginalized, no doubt of it and kejriwal effect beyond delhi is cipher.

If we are to go by the results of the past few Parliamentary elections, no party even the grand old party of India succeeded in securing even a semblance of majority. What I foresee that is that BJP might succeed in cobbling together an alliance after the elections!!

Days of single party majority are gone. Any one aware of the present political reality will know that many states have become the strongholds of local parties. SP and BSP in Uttar Pradesh, JDU in Bihar, Trinamul Congress in West Bengal, DMK and AIADMK in Tamilnadu and so on. Maximum BJP can hope is to form a "Khichri" goverment. if it wants to get a majority of its own it will have to rig the 2014 election with its money, muscles and malice.

I dont think any party is capable of getting a majority on its own, so it will be a fractured mandate and a coalition government at the center which is fine since this has been happening since more than a decade now.....Congress may find even that a difficult task given its track record on corruption and scams since people are now very averse to this ...
