I was listenin to a discussion/debate about this subject and the manner in which the Congress spokesperson tried to wriggle out ,tied himself in knots about the question of providing PM security to Rahul Gandhi was really funny....They go to such lengths to make wrong, right !

Since there is great expectation about him and he has been projected as the future PM candidate if BJP wins, ISI is worried since he would definitely go all out to target the Pakistan based terrorists , so they want to get him killed before the elections itself...

The security cover is according to designation and also the threat is considered. Modi whould be entitled to normal security as available to C.M. But if he faces more threat, additional security may be considered. But it also needs be considered that entire Gujarat police force is at his command. So why the fuss?

Before I express my views Allow me to say that I don’t have any political affiliations.
Narendra Modi is the PM nominee of one of the strongest national party. In that respect his present status is much higher than the CM of Gujarat. The whole nation knows about his forthright views on Hindutva. And he has never hidden his views unlike hypocrite and fraudulent advocates of secularism of the rulers.
Take in to consideration the present mood of the nation. A saintly and most revered person like Lata Mangeshkar expressed her wish to see Narendra Modi as the Leader of this country. It speaks volumes about the present mood of the nation, that is disgusted with the stupid ways of the present rulers.
ISI views any person as its enemy irrespective of the position or status. Just see the the members of Indian Mujahdeen. All of them are non- descript common citizens. Are we not seeing them as the threats ?
Narendra Modi even if he is in an ordinary position with his strong views on Hindutva is a biggest threat to our mischievous neighbor. Hence one can imagine the intensity of ISI menace. Narendra Modi by all means needs a PM kind of security, who doesn’t need a security because nobody wants to harm him.

I think prominent leaders are precious to this country all this started after lack luster performance of Bihar admn, where bombs found on the ground even three days after meeting, can you believe this, all are live bombs. Definitely so, If Modi was their own candidate and they knew about the life threat, would they have said the same thing ? one can also see their own losing self confidence which makes them resort to all sorts of cheap gimmick...

BJP denied PM type security means SPG security, it is upon central govt. to look for it and they may have accept it or negate it, if we consider US type and UK type democracy then the prime ministerial nominee is given SPG protections. In India perhaps there is no rule for it.

Whether it is liked or not, Modi is perceived as an enemy of Islam after the Godhra killings. BJP has put him in high risk zone by elevating him as their PM candidate. Give him any level of security he remains a prime target for those who seek revenge. Sorry to say, sooner or later, an attempt on his life may be made. He must be extra careful.

So when we talk about rules let us also take into consideration this fact - Why is Sonia Gandhi,Rahul Gandhi,Priyankha Gandhi and Robert Vadra given PM security ? If that is justified on whatever grounds that then Modi should be given the PM security as well ! Defoinitely under congress government rules are flouted every which way to suit their convenience , so let us not talk about rules here instead focus on the need of the hour !

Here the question is not really of threat to life. This is more a question of 'status and dignity' attached to 'security'. The PM nominee of the main opposition is keen on getting everything that real PM gets. He is so impatient. He mocked PM address from Red Fort. Now he also wants the same security as PM gets. The issue gets funnier day by day.

Actually the funniest thing one can hear is Rahul Gandhis speeches where he talks about threat to his life - this is to get some importance o himself after the Bihar blasts when Modi had his rally, just to get some importance for himself . Half the time he does not know what he is talking about and when he does , he puts his foot in the mouth...LOL, however, he is giving some entertainment to the public in general especially when he talks about rural issues since he has no clue about things...
