Free Antivirus?

On my old laptop, I have Quick Heal that I have purchased for 3 years and the period end in the next month. On my new laptop, I got one from Microsoft. My vendor got it done for me and this is the best one for me as a free anti virus. It gets updated automatically and I am pretty satisfied with it.

There are tons of antivirus programs and they all work for a stipulated trial period. Later they remind you to upgrade and keep reminding you. Programs like Avira, Avast etc are dependable.

You can use built in Anti malware of windows Windows defender (Win 8) or Windows Security Essentials (For older version of Windows) It has seamless integration with Windows, and it updates through Windows updates.

I have never heard of this one but since Abhi suggested it, I would want to check it out.

Rakhi if you want to keep your system free from viruses, malwares, spywares etc. then purchase a reputable and good quality licensed antivirus such as Quickheal. Downloding free software is not bad but a free antivirus does not provide full protection from more vicious kinds of viruses and malwares or spywares. They only provide an optimum level of protection. So my suggestion is you buy Quickheal and they usually give a godd deal, like for one year's license they give two months free and for 3 years even more than that!

It is free for one year, maybe few features short but safe. Then you have AVG, McAfee, Agast etc. These all have paid and free versions.

If you are using Windows 8.1, shift to standard user account instead of administrative account, activate Windows Defender, default anti malware and you are done, you do not have to buy any third party antivirus or paid antivirus.

Earlier I used AVG. I think paid versions are more effective than free one.

Obviously paid version will offer something extra than free one. But still some free anti virus are enough for the normal usage.

And also no antivirus are 100% secure. So we have to be smart too on computer usage.

I am free from using any, I am using Linux OS which takes very good care of my laptop. I do not have any antivirus for last few months.

Well, Linux is surely virus free in compare of windows.. So its cool.

Only windows OS is the worse in handling those viruses.

Avira AV is good but it is adware as from time to time advertisement of its own product will be shown on or before updating of its definitions.
