It is all depending on availability of time and meeting places, had these been in normal office atmosphere the method and outcome could be different.
My interview lasts for about one hour and was successful. This list consists of some really weird job interview, how much one confident from within still nervousness crippling into mind at some point of time
The purpose of an interview in most leading organizations is to find out the candidate's readiness to face emergencies and for this different companies use methods which are non -conventional. Long ago General motors which manufactures Buick and Cadillac used to test the candidate during lunch, during a joy ride and many such occasions using unconventional methods.
I had a unique interview for my first job. I was familiar with the organization. some body in the organization just went with me to a room and asked me to sit there and went away. I just waited. Meanwhile an officer came and talked with me for about half an hour. When our talk finished, he told me that the interview was over. Thus I had an interview even though all the time I had impression that this was just gossip.

Yes, that certainly was unique. because there is nothing better than a friendly interview without making candidate self centered or over-conscious about it.

That is the way to see the inside of a prospective employee. When he is not aware with whom he is talking, the candidate will get an opportunity of expressing his views freely.

As marketing head of a company I was part of the recruitment team along with HR. I always made it a point to make it as friendly as it was possible. That was my own way of getting best out of a candidate.
Job interviews are sometimes weird and unexpected, one of my friend has really weird situation while at meeting as he has to face barrage of questions from all interviewer.

And that's the system widely followed now in the corporate circles. Even in campus interviews, interviews will not look like interviews. Just like a friendly chat.
