The city thrived between 3,300 and 2,900 years ago and was under the control of the Assyrian Empire.

Very interesting read ! I am reminded of Agatha Christie who lived in Iraq for a number of years with her archeologist husband and based many of her novels there , in fact in one of the digs in Assyrian Empire as well..
