The United states government could not get budget passed and consequently even salary of staff can't be paid. Many departments have to be closed. This should be a lesson to those who so strongly clamor for american Presidential system.

Gulshan ji no one system is perfect one. Our Prime Minister is also not perfect system.
I don't think presidential system is the only reason behind this deadlock , this can happen in any system. This is kind of problem we face in parliament when passing of any financial bill can take an ugly shape if our political parties/parliament pass bills without debating or amendments after keeping house shut for months.
If properly run and administered, any kind of system will work including dictatorship. Are we not seeing the so called the best form of government " Democratic form of government" being misused in all possible forms ? It's not the form of governance, it's the ability of the people who run it that counts.
Yes In India there are more department so more corruption its should be operated from President.
I Hope you have not understood the thread. This is about presidential system versus parliamentary democracy. Many praise. Presidential system and advocate that for India. They say that President being directly elected, the govt is more stable. The current crisis shows shortcoming of that system.
In India, President functions only through Union council of minister and so the suggestion of President directly operating some departments is without any substance.

The question is that as long as Prime minister has majority in parliamentary, the government is stable and working. But in U.S.A., President is stable but his government can be crippled as the current events show.
