Is politics about good governance or is this about caps and Tilak. Ideally, one should not display any religious symbol- cap or Tilak- in a secular political system. But Nitish Kumar thinks so and taunts Gujarat C.M. Modi.

That perhaps will be decided in coming elections. Maybe they won't need any of these in future. Taunting and counter taunting is name of the game. they use it as we play Antyakshari.

all of them need to hoodwink people by fancy words and dress. Wear Abdulla cap in Srinagar, A Tilak before Hindu audience and so on. Such fancy dress is routine for Indian politicians including late P.M. Pt Nehru and Indira Gandhi.

Nitish Kumar forgot that Bihari is also using cap and tilak. He is insulting great personility of India like first President of India, Dr. Rajinder Parsad who also used cap and Tilak and is also from Bihar. he is doing all these to secure his vote bank.

Such comment won't surely add any feather to Nitish's cap whose existing feathers look pretty worn-out!!!

There is nothing wrong in wearing a cap or putting tilak on your forehead as long as you do so in usual course. The issue is that certain politicians change cap or wear tilak just to impress voters. This is the context of Nitish Kumar taking a dig at Modi by saying that one needs tp wear cap some times and put Tilak some times. Dr. Rajendra Prasad wore cap and Tilak because he was used to such dress and he never did so to impress voters. Dr. Rajendra Prasad was an embodiment of excellence in education and simplicity.

The weakness lies with the people. Politicians are like chameleons. The religious marks, outfits are nothing but the efforts to hide the real colors of themselves. See a politician attending an Iftar . It's all a false front to create an impression in the people around belonging to the concerned religion, "I'm with you. I'm your man."
Of late people started understanding the sinister Ploy of these chamaleons.

There is nothing wrong if they stick to their own faith and signs of religions but they they keep changing them as per demand of occasions that reduce them to actors playing their parts in fiction.

Prima facie, Nitish changed track when Modi was declared chief of campaign committee for elections. He also suspected that BJP would make him Pm candidate. This came true. How far his viewpoint is rational is debatable. If BJP with Modi as leader is bad, how can that be good without his leadership?

You are right. Present day politicos are experts in histrionics. The problem is that every body knows that they are enacting a scene lifted from a C grade movie, except themselves.
Now BJP has understood that there may be some side effects of showcasing Muslims in caps. It has been remarked that anyone may buy certain type of dress and appear as a Muslim. One BJP leader has remarked that there is no dress code for Muslims and they may not be identified in crowd.

Its not the case with BJP alone. Its the general belief prevailing in all the political parties that by wearing a particular region's traditional dress they can win the hearts and votes from those particular region's people. Wearing a skull cap while attending Iftar parties, donning a horned head gear while in Nagaland are two of the practices among many. Now its time to stop those dramatics as people have become more smarter to rubbish such stereo type practices.

One more Mula Mulayam Singh in Indian politics.
Now there is dress code or fancy dress not only about leaders. First it was rumored that Burqua women would be there in BJP meeting to demonstrate that Muslims support that party. When the issue of Buqua became a matter of ridicule and joke-, BJP barred Burqua clad women.

My only question is, what's the role of a dress and other outward gimmicks for doing service to the people who voted you for being a custodian ?

you should ask this question from Diggi raja who issued this statement. He never stops making a fool of himself.

And he continues to making fool of himself. His latest is, he's issuing foolish statements one after another on Telangana issue. People of AP are spewing fire on him. he's going to pay for it dearly.
