In this fast paced world many of us feel a little burn out, staying late in the office, continuous tours and staying away from home, does impact heavily on mind of persons. On the other hand if you work hard and every task is completed and then you get job satisfaction and sometimes that is more that taking rest and thinking about leisure. Generally these are signs of perfection as they are obsessed with work and forget that they are living in this world.

I agree, but the pressures from all ends make the person addicted to work...no savings, no stability..all that!!!!!!!

How pressure is caused ? Let's say yesterday's jobs which were left unattended will pile up and add pressure on today's jobs. Had you followed the age old saying. "Kaal Kare so aaj, Aaj kare so ab" (The work meant for tomorrow should be done today. The work meant for today should be done NOW ) any traces of pressure will not dare to come near you. This is the crux of effective time management.
I am not a work addict although I was so about twenty years back. Now, I work at slow pace and rest in between. It is necessary to walk in the morning and evening or do some exercise or play games. .

Well, Rambabu ji, the jobs we face today (the struggling youngsters) are not in pace with the changing times because of the fact that the jobs in India refuce to walk hand in hand with technology. If this was the case, no one will be struggling. Now you see in IT Sector, every minute is something new

Moreover Government based jobs are becoming more corrupt. We are forced to get corrupt.

People in Private companies work depending upon the mood of the employer. What happens next is uncertain, A male colleague may resign due to ego clashes, a female may resign due to gender bias and so on...

In all these, we lose track on our long term goals- these were very well done by people in your generation, but not the case of people in our generation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

I work in a private advertising agency as a designer with uncertain working hours. Still i never gave a chance neither to my employers nor to my clients for a complaint. Besides my private jobs I write articles for Two websites. And I'm working in the present scenario. I'm not quoting my experience from my past. This worked for me and i'm sure it works in future too.

I agree but there are people who would want to finish their allotted/assigned/targeted/planned work within time even at the cost of all the health related risks. Unfortunately I am one of them.

I know it. But I request you to reconsider your style of working. as it is going to show its effects in the long run. Your way of working should ensure " Best of the two worlds." I'm a stickler to this.
Good morning members- this link is perfect for developed countries but not applicable to Indian work conditions where working lesser than 70 hours a week is insufficient. In case of married women it could range in 80-90 and if she is working woman then above 100 hours per week might not considered normal but it is her fate. Thank you.

I'm an Indian and I'm implementing the principle successfully of 'striking a balance between work and leisure ' since long. What all you need is determination and effective time management.

Indian women in most cases are no better than captive labor, forced to work. They are not after work but work is after them, sorry but that is bitter truth.

The problem can be solved. There are helping husbands still existing. A bit of understanding and adjustment between the couple will ease the situation for a woman.

There are few negative effects of time management such as too many goals, work overload and stress due to back log, we need to develop patience and proper utilization of money management so that work addition can resolve to rich benefits.

Bad time management leads to procrastination. Procrastination in turn adds load to your next day's work load and the problems will be multiplying.
In fact if you are an effective time manager. nothing will be a hindrance.

This is something that is successfully being followed by all European countries. They work for 5 days in a week and weekends are for the family and for rest and other activities. Most offices are closed and no work gets done during weekends unlike here and USA where some ccompanies who are goal oriented work even during weekends...In the long run it proves to be quite unhealthy !

They can afford to do that because their government supports them in bad time and also provides them with free medical, education, old-age, no job allowances. If Indians were to get these facilities, they would ask for 4 days week probably. You can see that in government sector, they enjoy 2-3 hours a day and please do not ask how many days a week they go to their offices. In case of government sector we are chutty and strike ruled country with all perks paid.
