How tolerant and non violent any religious group can be. Buddhists are believed to be non violent as their teachings suggest. But in Srilanka they attacked Muslim prayer center. If this is conduct of Buddhists, what to say of others. Undoubtedly, no poison is more thangerous than religion.

In the link nothing has been mentioned about the reason for attack or who started or provoked whom. We cannot say anything about tolerance or intolerance of any of the two religions

The Buddhists attacked Muslim prayer center. Obviously, here Buddhists are aggressive. Srilanka is predominantly Buddhists populated. Buddhusm is supposed to contain non violence and consequently tolerance. Other religions especially Islam are considered violent and intolerant. Here the lesson is that no religion unites. all divide humanity.
Every religion preaches tolerance but if we go back to the history of all religions , it is filled with blood shed, violence and intolerance of he worst kind. They never cared for human beings .....everyone who was found to be a non believer was butchered so religion and tolerance do not go together !

Nut they were not defending. They were aggressive.
Perhaps they were following the formula 'offence is best defence' or 'tit for tat'

I think anyone will take the advantage of Nativity factor. That's the reason why Sinhalese became aggressors.

Actually religion is a perfect way to learn tolerance and most of the religions teach the same, but when some religions started influencing others to join their folds forcefully, others stood up and retaliated.
This is not shocking to me. As Sri Lankans are always war minded. It is a proven fact from the issue of Tamil Civilians being killed in Sri Lanka.
It takes two hands to clap, Prabhakar was extremely aggressive and by now we all know that he killed his own people when they opposed him and Srilankn government was forced to deal with them. They too unfortunately have retaliated in the same fashion as Prabhakar did with their people...
Now is the time for Buddhist to attack Muslims in Myanmar. However they had reason for their anger. Govt. should haved pacified the situation and done justice to all.

Buddhists are indeed considered as most tolerant but isnt it other way round , rather than religion teaching them tolerance haven't they make their religion like that... they are strong mentally and calm but even the calm bomb explodes when pushed

If they can turn a peace loving religion into a warring group, I am afraid the world is going to see many such groups in future. We need more practical views from all concerned.

Every religion is a peace loving religion. Did we not announce at the top of our voice the essence of Geeta as ,”Ahimso Parama Dharmaha”? And it’s the same with all religions. With the time these concepts and roots undergo change in accordance with the prevailing conditions. If one religion known for its peace loving principles sees that its survival is at stake it leaves behind all its principles and holds the collar of the other religion.

Tolerance and religion seems two opposite poles in modern times. Gone are the days when religion taught love and peace, the opposite is right in modern day style.

If u follow anything by heart, it will teach u how to be calm. People don't follow things right way..
Follow not any thing. Follow just what your mind says without bothering about religion. What appeals to you is good to believe. You may listen to any religion and follow what appeals. But there is no need to stick exclusively to a particular religion.
Even the famous philosopher Jiddu Krisna murthy says don't believe a thing because a long bearded man said. He further insists on convincing yourself using your rationality and logic. Your belief itself is your religion. No need of any other religion.

I will trust whatever a long bearded man said and in this case this man is a Sardar who generally never speaks lies but on serious note all so called gurus and saints belonging to any religion are not trustworthy.
