Many of us believe in miracles. So we go to primitive miracle healers like Ojha. Not only Indians, but the Christians have a big belief in miracle healing. Periodically, the Christians hold mass meetings for miracle healing or Changai.
The link is about miracle healing. The author says that we should not accept anything blindly or just because that is said and believed by others.

I agree with what the author says about miracles. Even the great spiritual Guru Jiddu Krisna murty says that simply because the person wears a beard don' t believe what he says. See for yourself. Convince yourself. Then decide.

Absolutely,Christians have a strong belief in miracles.Since Jesus Christ made several miracles in the midst of Israel people.Author's view about miracle is entirely wrong.Because accepting and following Lord Jesus Christ blindly is the key factor in Christianity.Without believing we cannot get miracles done in our life.

If a belief is based on true experience, this is okay. Otherwise this is blind and needs be opposed.

Obvious things are not beliefs but truths. They are experienced and seen by all. Problem arises when a few experience and try to force on others as truths.

I have heard a lot about these healers but yet to meet one. We should not trust any thing blindly because some of these are fabricated stores.

sometimes you are miraculously saved. I also experienced this many times. But this 'miracle' is not 'divine' but is prompt help by near ones or strangers. Some smart man saved a boy by pushing him away from speeding truck. But the believers will not appreciate that smart man but instead give full credit to divine forces. They would even argue that the smart man was inspired by some divine force to save the boy. This is reasoning of the 'faithful'.

That which cannot stand to reasoning and logic is not a miracle. At the most I can say it's a coincidence.

Miracle healing works purely on self belief if you feel it works, it is because your faith prompts you increase your self confidence through your willpower.

Good one sunil.Miracle works once we start believing them. There indeed is a natural force which is doing this but our self belief is more important

And this is not limited to Hindu religion as some people would believe but almost every religion has faith in this although my belief is limited to self confidence and willpower.
By the way have you heard of Wailing wall? People go there only to touch it and find relief.

Some times it's other way round, people who know swimming sink due to their overconfidence.

The swimmers are likely to drown more. But if you jump in river without knowing swimming, drowning is more certain. Thus even ablest doctor may not save a patient but faith in miracle healing is sure to kill the patient.

Perfect example, I also think in same way. Miracle healing only works if you have strong willpower, willpower can make you learn swimming fast but if you do not know how to swim before jumping in more than 6,7'of water, no one has a chance.
