The BJP government in M.P. saffrons education by introducing stories from Hindu scripture in all aided schools and Madarasas. This has triggered controversy. Surprisingly, congress says that stories from other religions should be also added. Probably congress feels that there should be mixed poison.

I don't see anything wrong with that. Why can't we learn about every religion to know their teachings better. Why do they brand them safron if any Hindu matter comes up or what is so wrong with Hindu religion which should be kept away from others. Why Hindus never object adapting to others teachings in their own syllabus? Let us be more understanding to make this country a litte more livable.
Introducing mythological stories is not a new thing. This practice is an old one known as "moral science". I studied in Christian missionary schools, where studying Bible and attending Chapel and singing psalms are mandatory. If this is accepted, why not Hindu mythological stories ?

After all we learnt about every other religion in our schools only. Why should we mind if our own country introduces all religions in schools on equal level or let us put a blanket ban on religion related matters everywhere.
Teaching of anything in normal course is okay but deliberate attempt to saffron education is unacceptable. Why should government specifically order including stories from Geeta. Incidentally, there are no stories in Geeta. This is just a lecture by Krishna to Arjuna for preparing him for war without consideration of love and affection for those in opposite camp.

Religion should be there. And it should be there in a position where it deserves, neither dominating nor submissive place.

I also read 'moral science' in convent school. A christian missionary school will definitely give importance to bible just as a DAV school will give to Arya Samaji variant of Hindu. Sanatan Dharam school will give importance to idol worship. Then why should Hindu scripture be forced upon Madarasa.

If the lecture of Krishna is all that seems to be there in Geeta then by all means IT SHOULD BE taught in all schools because it is nothing but a great discourse on how one should perform his duty, how a person's duty first and foremost is towards his country, then his community, then his family and so on. So if patriotism and nationalism can be taught by way of Geeta, then nothing worng with it. As it is Islamic religion is being taught in Urdu schools, Bible and study of Christianity is being taught in English medium and convent schools. And Muslim children studying in convent schools are not seen opposing Bible studies so why raise opposition against studying Hindu religion. In fact if they learn a little of the scriptures maybe they might develop a little more tolerance towards other religions.
Also we should read the news carefully where it is clearly mentioned that the Geeta content is being taught in madarasa from two years but the dust was raised only now that the elections are now close!

Muslims will not mind their children learning Hindu scripture in DAV or SSD schools or even Govt. schools. What is objectionable is to thrust saffron education in Madarasa.
Ultimately good sense has dawned on M.P. government. The controversial material has been withdrawn from Urdu textbooks in Madarasa.

Oh that is something great. Everyone learns his lesson sooner or later, I am pleased MP government learnt it sooner than later. :)

I am 100% agree with you. India is secular country it means all religions are equal. India is not atheist country. Who politicians are associating saffron with hindu. Other religion are also using saffron colour. Our national flag also have saffron colour. Nothing wrong in it if student know about great personalites of all religions.

There is nothing wrong with saffron color but our politicians think it is untouchable because it can see a section of voter drift away. The Hindus are divided, they will vote as per their caste basis. Politicians go for Poojas but never fail to call big names to Hindus and their faith. I know we have certain bad customs but we should try to remove them, discarding a religion that too their own for the sake of votes is funny.

They say all roads lead to Rome. In this case, all roads lead to vote banks That's the ultimate destination of all these politicians.

Public also knows them very well but come election and all is forgotten. Vote goes to caste and local issues.

This reminds me of NTR.s stock phrase " Manavaade na?" means is he from our caste ?. Before sanctioning any favour to a person, he used to confirm from his close followers whether the other person hails from the same caste.

Caste is behind every evil in our country especially in politics.

Ever since Hindu dharma was there caste was also there. Caste system has become an integral part of India. Its as old as hills.

Who divide Hindus. It is funny thing most of politicians are Hindu and Hindu also cast their vote to them. But these leaders divide Hindus in cast, sub cast and super sub cast. Assembly election in Rajasthan is due in November. to selecting candidates congress is calling information about the vote bank of candidates on the basis of cast. The base of giving ticket in coming election will be caste.

Politicians have not created castes and other subdivisions. These are already there and are centuries old. If you wish to blame somebody, blame the clergy who created the caste system. People like to vote for their own caste or sub caste. Political parties have no way except to field candidates considering the caste factor.

No politicians did not create casts, they only fanned these to use for personal benefits. They find it easiest way to convert them into vote banks for them. Not a bad idea but it only shows that our politicians do not lack in management abilities.
