Many of us know that the cosmetics that we use in our daily life are mostly animal tested. But what we do not know is the level of cruelty the petite animals like rabbits, mice and guinea pigs have to face in the process of testing. Highly concentrated samples of these cosmetics are tested on animals to study the side effects if any and make them safer for use by humans.
The first step we can take is to stop the use of animal tested cosmetics. Be more aware of the products we use and see if we are using any such products that have been tested on animals. There are a number of organisations (like peta) that can help you to know about brands that use animals for testing their products.

It is good news for all animal lovers that government of India banned use of animals for testing of cosmetics.
There are some institutes and organizations that take the best care of these animals by providing them the best food and shelter possible. However this is not the case everywhere, the need of the hour is some stringent guidelines for the protection of these animals.
This is the need of the hour. Animal protection especially those animals used for experimenting the effectiveness of a drug or cosmetics is necessary. Animal protection is an essential factor that plays a vital role in Environment protection also.
In fact, government is really run by business lobby irrespective of which political party formally rules. But business has also a humane side. Not only the government, the business firms in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals also can be persuaded to take steps to eliminate or reduce cruelty to animals. This only needs awareness.
