I agree. Not all natural things are harmless and free from side effects .Its a misconception prevailing among the people. And most of the users of herbs indulge in self medication who are not aware of the side effects of herbs. Its always safe to take herbs under the supervision of a qualified Ayurvedic medical practitioner.
All the natural herbs and not good to health. Only some are good which are tested and proved

even the good ones may not be good in all circumstances and to all. Hence these also need be taken on doctor's advice.

Its due to quacks and self medicating people Ayurveda earned a bad name. Standard books on Ayurveda never recommend self medication.
One saying fits here, Excess Of Everything Is Bad, so whether you are drinking milk or beer, if you go beyond the limit you will pay for it :)

Its not the question of 'excess'. Its the question of wrong beliefs that all Herbals are harmless. Ayurveda clearly states that all herbals are not harmless.
