Home made food in jail

May sanjay dutt has a special permission, he may have any health problem so he is allowed to have home prepared food

There will definitely be lot more criminals in the same jail with health problems. Why are they not allowed?

The TADA court had allowed Sanjay Dutt medicines and food from home for one month but refused other requests. Now Yervada jail authorities are opposing this as jail manual does not permit home food to convicted prisoners undergoing sentence.

Sir it is very said to here this sort of news but after all he is a celebrity and there should be some special benefits for him and his sister is also a politician....the rule are only to be followed by the common people like us.....

A typical casse of Indian bureacracy where each department does its own thing.....I feel the simplest thing to do is follow rules wherever you are ! If Yervada jail doesnt allow home foodm, then where is the problem? Does he eat home food when he goes to all sorts of places for shooting ? I read sometime back him saying that when they shot the film Jungle they were all living eating basic food since the village they were in was cut off from everything ...

It is decision of court and no one have right to comments on it. Sanjay is allowed for home made food only for one month.

For the poor, the entire country is jail like. For the wealthy, even jail is home. Actually the very announcement of jail sentence is a matter of utmost shame. But these days, nobody except government employees fear jail. The business men do not mind going to jail if they are provided all facilities even by bribing provided that they are allowed phone, computer, internet service so that they may run their business. Businessmen only want facility for business. Sanjay Dutt had also made plea that some of his films need completion. Only government employees fear jail because they are deemed to be placed under suspension if jailed for more than 48 hours.

If a furniture manufacturer is jailed, will you burn all the furniture manufactured and purchased by people. If an author is jailed, will all his books be burnt?

I do agree with your point of politicians and celebrities having supremacy over common people and it is quite sad to see such kind of unlawful activities happening in front of our eyes.

As of now all that is required is for him to get permission and shoot the film and they will release and be happy.If a ban is put on the release itself the suffering will be enormous and they will automatically think twice about taking a criminally charged actor...

Sorry I am not agree with you. It is also punishment. He done mistake but he is not hard core and habitual criminal.

I understand your sentiments. Nobody should escape punishment but you cannot punish more than what the law provides. Nor you can punish others also for offense of an individual. Even the court allowed Sanjay Dutt to complete the unfinished movies by allowing him time to surrender. This itself indicates that court also wants his movies to run in usual course.

It is good that Sanjay Dutt his completing his jail term according to law. when he is released, we hope he will be a chastened man and perform his role as true citizen of India. Meanwhile, his movies must run as usual and there is no point in barring publicity. We hate the sin and not the sinner.

I remember Charles Sobhraj. I heard the jailer gets up and stands when Sobhraj passes through.
