Should betting be legalised in India?

My opinion is not to be legalized.
I am also totally against it. Betting should not be legalized in India :S
For me it should be legalized since the rotation of black money can be prevented.
i totally agree with the point that it should be made official

It is not possible to stop in completly. In this situation it is better to legalised it in India. In this way government can control it.

Nothing works if the implementation of law fails. We have lot of laws foe curbing black money. Are you sure they are working?
We can't curb it completely but we can minimize it.

If black money cannot be curtailed by one means, attempt to be taken to curtail by some other means. Enforcing this can very well be an attempt as JOTHIBASSU has mentioned.
If we don't legalise betting then the same thing was going to happen next year and the same question on whether to legalise betting or not will be debated in 2014 also.

Proper implementation of the existing laws like prevention of corruption and many such laws will serve the purpose. Suppose, if a new act comes legalizing corruption, and if it's not implemented (without any political and other interference,) it won't serve the purpose.
Yes, I too heard that betting is now trying to be legalized, but does not support this. Betting is always illegal. IF it is legalized then lot of destruction occurs. Everyone will participate. Due to this crime rate will increase

Gambling or taking chance is a natural instinct. Betting is also okay. But there should not be any foul play or attempt to manage things. People bet not only on cricket matches but also on natural events like rain. There is betting on amount of rain water in Mathura. What is wrong is attempt to manage or manipulate things. If you just bet on cricket play without match fixing, there should be no issue. Match fixing is foul.
Similarly, even many people have betted on Aiswarya rai, that she will give birth to a boy or Girl. Crores of rupees were on betting at that time.
In most of the foreign countries betting is legalized and no incidents of any wrongdoings have been reported so far,YES this in india we cannot expect similar results here.
Yes.Many countries legalized the ipl betting but in India, there may be chance of wrong doing..so,heavy laws should be put to control the betting...If it is legalized then our country will get some income from that.
Well said, why should the bookies earn so much money let the government earn some money so that after bribing lot of money to its ministers they can spend a few percent of the income towards the public cause.

Another thing we should note here,by making the betting legal we may able to control the black money, country will get income via many things, new jobs opportunities will be created...etc.,
