To a certain extent common sense can also be termed as being street smart, being able to handle everyday happenings with ease and in an efficient manner ...

This is very apt meaning of 'common sense'. Essentially, common sense is the ability to understand what will run smoothly without causing unnecessary problems. even animals have common sense. Thus common sense is the inherent ability to act properly as against that obtained through training.
Common sense is a feeling that gives an equal satisfaction to all for a common cause. No one fees deprived, cheated or mistreated.

Sound judgment derived from experience rather than study, is common sense. People with common sense are seen as reasonable, down to earth, reliable, and practical.

Common sense is linked with rationale. It hasn't got anything to do with academic qualifications.

Commonsense is the knowledge that if one touches fire, it causes a burn. Sixth sense is intuition. Both re 2 different things.

It’s a misconception that common people lack common sense and it’s the prerogative of extraordinary people.
Once Sir Isaac Newton called a cage maker and asked him to make a cage with two entrances. One big entrance for his big cat and a small entrance for his small cat.
The perplexed cage maker said, ‘Sir, don’t you think one big entrance will do the needful?’
It goes without saying that Sir Isaac Newton was all praise for the commonsense of the cage maker , which he lacked.

One when he was child and the other when he grew up.
Only a few smiled rest of them took it casually.
It's a joke but tells you a lot about common sense.
