It is a good move, which should have come much earlier ! Pran is indeed an institution in the hindi cinema and there will not be another one like him ever ! He had his own unique style and his voice too was distinctive making him one of the most loved and popular screen villains !

Yes and that's what I said in my post above. And I think there are other actors that have got some recognition in some way or the other But for anyone the ultimate award happens to be the one and only Dada Saheb Phalake award.

He deserve it, he is legend of Indian film Industry.
I read that news yesterday itself. I think the honor has come way too late. Pran is 93 today and acted in around 400 films. But better late than never. Congrats to Pran Sahab!
True!! He is a great personality who deserves the award.
I am happy that he finally got it. After all, the Dada Saheb Phalake award is the highest in the film world. Nothing can beat that.

Pran's versatility is well known. You can see a picture failing at the box office. A leading actor might have failed to rise up tp the expectations of the viewers. But there is no cinema, where in Pran failed to measure up to the expectations of the Box- office or the audience.
All the old time villains had distinctive characteristics , be it Pran, K.N.Singh ,Rehman or Madan Puri ! Now the trend of casting and film making has changed - in some ways better but in many ways not for the better
But Pran is not a conventional brow rising bad man. He's a full fledged actor, who can put himself in any slot with elan and ease.

Thats true, whereas the others did stereotyped roles as villains Pran has acted in a wide range of roles as a character actor and has shown his versatility ..
