Well Said Sanjeev, Let us all avoid making false promises and maintain the relationships long lasting.

But it needs guts to reject straight away.

When it comes to making promises - true or false - the mental condition is an important element to pronounce our judgment. For instance a person making a promise based on whatever information he or she possesses at that point of time but genuinely intending to honor it should be kept outside the scope of condemnation we reserve for those those who consciously make false promises!!

That's true, rejection is better than false promises, rejection can hurt a person for few days but false promises can spoil one's life too.

Yes other wise we will become negative persons in front of them. We must give promise if we can do otherwise silent is the best weapon before them.

Generally we do not make false promises. This is past time of politicians and lovers. Lovers make false promises like bringing moon or stars for their beloved. But this is expression of love and not really false promise. A business man makes false promise to cheat. The politicians must make false promises only as otherwise they lose basic character. It is a trait of politician. when he says yes, he means perhaps. When he says perhaps, he means no. He can never say no as then he is not a politician.

Yes we need lot of guts to reject but that is better than to feel embarassed when you don't fulfill promise. :)

We should not do any false promise to anyone.It can loose our impression. Give promise if you can keep that promise.
