Now it will not suffice to cite pan number allotted by Income Tax. You also need adhar card for provident fund transactions. Possibly this card may be mandatory in future for other transactions also. So get this at the earliest.

Thanks Gulshan ji. I haven't applied yet for Adhar card. Few months back, officials at the post office told that it has been temporarily stopped. Next phase will start once central government allocates fund for this.

It looks, Adhar is the 'Adhar' for all our day to day activities from now.
This is very important news. Thanks once again Gulshanji for this post. I heard about this card but I felt that it is least important. Now I am serious regarding this.

Me too have not yet applied for it. In our area nobody is taking the registration for Adhar card. Where we can apply for it.?
This is another of this misguided missiles that government comes up with. Aadhar being so important should be made aware to the general public and having done that it should be freely available- the forms are simply not there anywhere nor do the persons concerned know when they would be available...
Suddenly introducing like that is not better. After all persons getting the card may introduce like that.
Even I have heard it from many relatives.. I have already seen big lines where they are enrolling aadhar cards for people.. So I am already scared by those lines, would like to more when rush decreases. :D
Athar card is very important for nowadays. It is for unique identification. All details collected and stored in a centralized system.
Adhar card is very much important now a days. Adhar card is used in many purpose. Even we can use adhar card in making driving license, opening bank account, making passport and also for other important work.

Did you apply for PAN through UTI-ISL or some other agency. If applied through URI-ISL etc, you may contact them through their website.

I will like to deviate a bit from the topic. In a local (Marathi) newspaper, I read that Maharashtra is the top state in India who provides the Aadhar card to its citizens. The irony is a lot of people in our locality haven't got the card. In my family of 4 members, only my wife has got her card whereas we all had registered on the same day. The government (administration) is too lazy here and importantly, is careless.

There is only one Adhar number valid in whole country. Please go through the link and you can apply on line at any center in India.

So far so good. In my state AP. each Aadhar card counter has become a battle field. People are taking their food standing in the queues. Women and children are swooning.

I am aware of the technicalities and I have registered already. I also have the acknowledgement as a proof. But the question is I still haven't got the card. People are very careless and lazy here. They don't understand the gravity of the situation.
