Item songs cannot be cause of rape. Punjabi and Bojpuri have many sexy and even vulgar folk songs. These never caused rape. Most know the difference between entertainment and crime.

This is most outrageous. Does the learned advocate want to say that only dishonorable women are raped and the Delhi girl was not honorable.

Item songs in different forms has always been there in our society - there were dancers even in Indra's court and to blame item songs is sheer stupidity.Just because some men are deviant in behavior they want to look around to shift the blame on someone else...first let them change their attitude and correct their behavior towards women before pointing fingers ..

In every culture, there are songs with shades of romance and double entendre . They were accepted as part of a culture.
