Is it? I didn't know that. I thought it is only more famous in Gujarat because I have noticed in Rajathan and Maharastra, people there also enjoy kite festival but its not much like Gujarat.

For the entire South India Makara Sankranti is one of the biggest festivals celebrated with religious fervour and grandeur.
Uttarayan is very interesting festival. It is celebrated and enjoyed all over India. People fly kites and compete with each other. Different types of colourful kites are seen in the air. It is amazing.

Yes, depending on the region the festivities vary. In Hyderabad, Kite festivities are observed by all irrespective of religion.

Actually Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and Hindus they all participate in kite flying and even compete in who cuts more kites with one kite. They prepare special threads for the occasion.
Sunil.. Same here.. All people used to compete with each other, that's what make it more enjoyable.
How many of you participate in kite festival? I played in my childhood but not now.
