For Google employees, in case of death, a surviving spouse or domestic partner will receive 50 percent of the employee's salary every year for a decade. This is just one benefit among a plethora of perks that a n employee of Google gets in case of death, according to Laszlo Bock, company's chief people officer.

There are such perks in many organizations. Death cum retirement gratuity, family pension etc. are such perks.
Yes, many organization who belief in humanity has such after death schemes for the employee.
Generally, limited to ones who served more than 5 or 10 years & depends on the family's fiancial condition.
