India already lost second ODI and series too with that.
Well, Dhoni can play all kind of game. He can bat with aggression when needed and also play defensive as per situation. And as we already having good finisher like Yuvi and Raina? Don't you think batting at number 7 is wasting Dhoni's talent?

Dhoni batting at number 7 is a temporary strategy. Dhoni proved his worth in all the positions of batting and will continue to do
@Rambabu.. Temporary Strategy !! but I see him at same position in almost all games.. Yes he do change his position but rarely. And he has talent to play big inning, so what I think that he should come at one down or 4th place.
As a captain he has an overall interest to see the game through. .He cannot simply select his own favourite position and make the other positions vulnerable.
But batting at upper order can be beneficial for team India. Shouldn't he think about it?!
Some times it becomes necessary to make tail last for a long time. But anyhow, these are all the changes made to meet a certain conditions. That's what i mean by saying Strategic moves.
If you see both the series of England and Pak, they gave India night mares. Seeing this Dhoni might have been resorting to such changes which may sometimes prove counter productive.

May be you are right. But still what I think is that he should come up early, as right now upper order is not working and India surely needs some strong middle order. And also he had scored very good in the upper order in his starting career..
But yes it is all part of strategy.. and can go either ways.
SJ... Yes, upper order is not in form, plus dhoni can surely play big inning as he has talent. He can play both kind of inning, fast and slow as per situation.
Yes he showed it in the first ODI hope he tries it in the 3rd ODI. :)
Even in his earlier career too.. He played big innings as opener .. I am not telling to be opener again, but at least he can start with one down or at 4th position.

Yes I saw it in his career's starting but after that he started playing it lower order may be this is a strategy but he should do some trials too. :)

May be.. But now he surely need some new strategy .. as current strategies surely not working even his performance is good.
