Is joint family a blessing ?

Well, I am living in the joint family.. And believe me I am enjoying my every life moment because of that. ;)

This days we don't find joint families more like before. According to you is joint family a blessing in disguise ?

Its not a "Blessing in disguise" It's a real Blessing. It was the most favorite type of family set up from time immemorial. With the changing times the concept of nuclear family came into existence. Nuclear families were proved to be utter flop creating problems in all spheres especially child upbringing.
In this scenario i vote for Good old joint families again.

Yes you are right rambabu, it is a blessing and I prefer a joint family, hope joint family system continues in India

Joint family is a blessing. I love joint family but I live in single family.

Being in joint family, you need to do lot of compromises and also lot of adjustment is needed. I have never lived in joint family, so i can't say how exactly it feels.

Yes it is a blessing to have a joint family as there are lots of advantages of it and of course one has to lots of adjustments while living in a joint family. :)

Joint family has its own advantages but also there are some demerits. In these days, men and women also work in factories, banks etc and are situated as separate places. Hence nuclear families are more common. Still there can be some cooperation in the larger joint family.

I agree with that. Advantages are surely more which makes disadvantages almost unseen.

Yes, of course. No doubt. Joint family is a blessing. But we are not aware of the significance of joint family.

Joint family has some merits and demerits and whether it is beneficial it depends upon on individual. First we should be mentally prepared to stay in jointly.

I wouldn't say that it is a blessing but I am sure that it has its advantages and also some disadvantages like any other institution or system in life.I feel that People who are able to successfully live within a joint family system are able to compromise and adapt better !

Everything in the world has its own merits and demerits. If both the parents are working, Then their parents will take care of their grandsons and granddaughters. Now a days kids are not blessed to have story time with their grand parents.

But I think it has more advantages then dis-advantages, to be happy in joint families few adjustments have to be done, and those who can't do it, or when things don't work according to them, then they start to think of leaving separately.

Some time it may be a blessing and some time it may not. It is according to the situations.

In many ways a joint family restricts an individuals freedom of expression and also curtails in many ways.Like for example the elders have a say in most matters and whether they are right or not and also whether they are knowledgeable or not one simply listens to them even if they dont agree with their views...

All members of the family may take care our child. So we can keep attention on other works.

Joint family not only accumulates/gathers persons but also the happiness. It helps enable sharing responsibilities.

Now people are not able to adjust with even minute mistakes of their spouses. Breakups, divorces......
Then what about joint family? :blink:
If it runs smoothly, we can't find another better option. but it's very rare nowadays. those days have gone where daughter-in-laws used to patiently hear harsh words of in-laws. B) :laugh: :laugh:

Tolerance is the major criterion which determines whether joint family or nuclear family.Joint Family was a part of our culture previous.
