Use only public transport system in Delhi

In the present scenario, Public transport is the only safe system especially for women

Oh that was horrible. :evil: I heard this in today's news. Really Delhi is not safe for females these days. I am sure the culprits will be caught soon and would have to pay for it but that's not enough. :evil:

I always travel by CNG buses or metro while in Delhi. This is comparatively safe to use public transport although Railway stations are most unsafe places in Delhi region.

Even I too use public transport. It is the best one can do be safe specially ladies. I would suggest ladies not to go out in the odd timings its better to take precautions rather to repent afterwards. :blink:

Safety is a relative concept. There is no absolute safety or absolute risk. Taking lift in a vehicle differs from traveling in public transport. At least theoretically, the transport authorities- Railways, Transport undertaking are liable when you travel in ordinary course by paying fare. But you alone are responsible when you accept lift in a vehicle. It goes without saying that government will not give a police escort to every woman wherever she goes.

That's sad. We shouldn't go for lift from any unknown people. Surely public transport is safer in compare of taking lift from unknown people. And I guess Delhi is having nice option as metro train, never had experienced , but heard from many people that it is best service for travelling in city.

Public Transport may be over crowded most of the times. But it is the safest mode of transport. By using public transport, Crime rate can be reduced.

Public transport does not include only state government bus. Even the private taxis licensed to carry passengers are part of public transport. But it will be risky to get lift in vehicles outside the public transport system. In the current case, the lift was taken in a private bus that was not for use of passengers.on hire.

Southern parts of India are not dangerous, though there are types of crimes like cheating and masquerading.

But there is problem too as one don't find public transport more often at night. In delhi the frequency of DTC buses reduce which is the main problem but today in the news I heard that Delhi government has planned to run DTC buses at night too. That's agreat move for safety. :blink:

Tis is not about Delhi only but allover the country where night services are not available which lead to mishappening.
