Facebook deal about Casinos come under heavy criticism

I have never participated in any games on Facebook although invited almost daily. I am hundred% sure that I am not going to participate any online gambling, however easy.

Apparently facebook has signed a deal to have casino games on its website and this has prompted a lot of criticism that it would encourage youngsters to gamble...

I don't understand why they cant keep it a clean , fun social site instead of adding such features which might back fire some day..

You'll be surprised to see that most of this activity would also come from countries like India, Philippines and so called poor countries as well. .

This is very true. Facebook has made many youngsters do wrong to others. Now casino will indulge them in the notorious deeds of gambling. I would suggest that age limit should be bound for the people who wants to play casino games.

Internet has only provided facility for all activities that were already available. There were casino players always. If Facebook provides them the facility, why we should grudge.

Everyone is aware of pros and cons of gambling and associated risk. Some are too adventurous. They would gamble even if there were no Facebook or internet. It is no use bothering too much for the way they choose.

At 18 the law makers may consider them adults but it is definitely not the case, they are just out of their teens and still very raw and immature to handle any major issues and may end up hurting themselves.So in the larger interest of the community, I feel that there should be proper monitoring like sunil said asking for PAN card details etc , which may deter them and make them realise the risks involved and that it is not so easy...another far more important aspect is that, youngsters at that age are financially not independent and are funded by parents, so one can see what the consequences would be when they lose etc...

Credit cards are also issued by banks/ financial institutions and this requires PAN. These are administrative and legal matters. Leave this to authorities. We may just discuss whether casino facility is justified. Facebook is a social site. They will cater to all social needs. As long as such service is not banned, they will provide this. any commercial organization will maximize profit and not bother about likes and dislikes of moralists.
