Yahoo messenger to terminate chat rooms

When you log onto your yahoo messenger account there is a message on it 'some messenger features will be disabled after 14/12/2012'. When you click on this message a page opens stating that Yahoo messenger will disable chat rooms after 14th of this month. Don't you feel bad about this? there was once a time some 10 years back when Yahoo chat was the most popular social networking medium. There was no Facebook or Boddunan that time. Yahoo brings some memorable moments to mind. Don't you think so? what do you feel by this news? :S

Hmm.. I have heard about it somewhere.. But this will not effect me as I am not using it at all..

I guess this is good move from it... This will stop many spamming and many other things with it.. Messaging the friends and relatives which are in the list using messenger is fair enough feature.. I guess no need of anything else.. This is my personal opinion.

I have hardly used it since one can use Facebook, gmail chat and also skype and other sites for chatting...I am sure it is because of less patronage that they have decided to terminate the chat rooms...

According to me, terminating chat rooms is a good decision. Because those chat rooms are not being used properly.

Ram Prosad, Chat rooms are being used in inappropriate manner mostly. Hence I support this decision of terminating chat rooms in Yahoo.

I talk with my father on skype. I have used most of time facebook for chatting and with few friends i chat with gtalk. I used to use yahoo messenger in the early 2008, but when i heard about Skype, from then, I haven't used Yahoo messenger.

Persons those who misuse chat rooms in yahoo messenger will be worrying a lot since they are getting affected severely because of this decision.

Bad news for the users and good news for them who don't use and think it is mis used, I use to use more yahoo mesenger but not now, once it is terminated then may be feel bad, and remember the good memories

Before every one use to use only yahoo, but not very few people in think, and most of them skype and fringle

Obviously Yahoo wants to leave space for social sites like Facebook. Yahoo will concentrate on mail, search and other activities.
