Y2K issue was a technical problem. The computes were programmed to work till the year 1999. a period of 1000 hears is big enough ad normally you don't care till the century would come to an end. Nobody believed that the world would end in 1999. The Mayan calendar issue is different. Here the issue is of bad logic and superstition.
Exactly!!! Also, whatever signs and symbols are given in the Mayan calender, who can say for sure that the manner they have been interpreted is 100% correct??? So in my opinion, it is only a superstition and we must not really spread it around, it might cause some panic!

We must keep in mind that the film makers will make use of any such opportunities that can be used in film and attract crowds, so not necessarily they will have any truth in them. The only factor that matters is if the subject will atttract crowds in the theatres or not!

Sandhya, the movie 2012 has not only taught us destruction but also a new hope for survival
It only teaches that there must be unity among all, a disaster can only bring humans as one entity.

I have erased this news long ago from my mind. I survived many such 'World Endings' earlier.

David Morrison, Senior Scientist, NASA Lunar Science Institute has briefly explained about Dooms Day. He concluded that 21/12/2012 is just another day not a Dooms Day as everyone is scared of. He has given detailed explanations.
NASA Has Confirmed That
December 21st, The Sky Will Be
Very Dark. It Is An Interesting
Phenomenon Called
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
“Night” :P :) :D
Ha HA hA! That's a really good one Swetha!!
I almost believed that lol....at least we would have had some excitement after all the build up through the months and weeks..... :cheer:
Tomorrow is 21/12/2012, end of the world a predicted by an ancient famous french astrologer, Nostradamus. NASA has recently predicted that there will be no end of the world in 2012. Hence the theory put forward by many experts related with end of the world is fake and has no base. Friends, Mayan Calendar is of no use.
earlier everyone believed Christian calender saying world will end on 1999 december 31st, midnight.
hot talks were there.......after that everyone became silent,.
similarly, Mayan calender is going to meet the same fate.
Nowhere in Holy Bible mentioned the particular date regarding world end. People create myths which spread rapidly across the world.
You are correct Robert. It was not mentioned in the bible.

The end of the world date has been predicted by many on different occasions and those days have come and gone without any significant event. Expect the same today too, although the day has only now started!!
And my opinion is that Mayan calender is of no use to us, but it would have served some different and significant purpose to its creators so we cannot disregard it as such, but we can preserve it as a relic of the bygone era where the people were really civilized and intelligent! :cheer:
