I have not done so far. The problem is since yesterday only. I'm using office computer in day and in evening these days have to attend marriage functions. So, I shall work on your suggestion when I get time to use home computer- may be on Sunday. Thank you.
If problem is with the cable you may have to reconnect it even then if it is not connecting then there must be some problem with the port (where you connect the keyboard cable)...

I am using PS2 keyboard though not sure. Anyway this is not USB.

Gulshan ji check once any thing wrong in the slot. That pins is crushed when keeping in slot.
sir, is your keyboard working now?
it's very difficult to repair a keyboard. now itself I have changed at least 4 or 5 keyboards within the past 7 years

I have not used the home computer since last several days. I use the home computer more on Sundays. These days, I have to attend marriage functions at night and so do not use the computer. If the key board does not work even after re-plugging, this may need be changed. I have never changed the key board for last several years.

Yes.. Try to use new one, probably go for USB one.

If you still want to continue with this one, than I have checked few solution on internet. Almost all are saying to resetting CMOS/BIOS.. So check that if it works for you.
May be the keyboard wire need to be replaced. If you still find such problem better to show some good computer repair person.
