The Indian military has a new weapon against terrorism: the world's hottest chili.

After conducting tests, the military has decided to use the thumb-sized "bhut jolokia," or "ghost chili," to make tear gas-like hand grenades to immobilize suspects, defense officials said Tuesday.

It is a good news to share. IO would like to call it as another milestone reached in Indian Military. My Salute to Indian Military.
This is very strange, new and innovative weapon. This may be the idea of their wife. Jokingly writing because mostly housewife use chilli as their defensive weapon.
Another good weapon added in the list of defense armours. As gulshanji said, our indian army should get a new gadget to defense this.
We cannot be happy to find a new weapon as it can be used against us (public) at any time. Every new technology is used highly in destructive manner rather than for our safety.

Now a days Mirchi powder is being used for committing wayside thefts too.
It is good weapon for young girls and women to protect themselves... though military may not find it useful in long run...
I have seen it in the film Mirch Masala where the women used mirchi as a weapon to fight against the villain. :)

Yes that's the movie and I think they should carry it in handbag while going alone on streets.. though it may not be complete solution.

That's true Rajani, its not a complete solution. Already there is pepper spray for the safety purpose which is not used by most of them.
