We are updating our software to meet the quality requirements as well as provide you the best experience on Boddunan. Over the next few days, you will see most of the features gets updated. The article section is already got updated and will soon complete full updates. So please read the following.
1. The points system will be moved to a completely new software which we developed. Though your existing points will be accessible to you, we advise you to take a back up copy (Dashboard -> Points ->Download Full Activity). The new system will only have the total points that you earned till the launch date ( we will announce the launch date very soon)
2. A new badge system is being introduced to recognize the members who are the backbones of the site. You will get awarded with the different badges at different stages. For example you post 100 articles, your article gets 10k views, you answered 100 questions, you created 50 polls and so on are few examples.
We are creating the new badges for each activity, and we would love to see your input.
3. We have too many profile pages, we are getting away with all of them and will have a common profile page for each member. You can find it on newly developed pages or from My Profile link on top of this page. Please update your avatar. All boddunan features will soon adapt to this profile.
4. A new blog feature is introduced in articles section. Every member will have his/her blog created and can be accessible from your profile page.
5. The articles pages are revamped to make more personalized to you, adds author details etc.
6. A new commenting system will be introduced soon as current one is not capable of handling spam properly.
7. The article pages are completely revamped for easy navigation.

let me put forward another idea...
instead of placing leaderboard in the front page, a link can be placed with quote, "Do you want to know active members of the site/top participating members of site/top earners this week"...anything like that
leader board can be provided in the link. by this way, a guest may feel interest to click the link to know about active members. by this way, the space saved may be wisely used for other purposes, providing a few more article links.

Hmm , that can be done... But why asking him. Just have the link naming top contributing members in the Forum and that can redirect to top healthy contributors and even that can be segregated as creative section , knowledge, humor. Every top member in his respective area if possible... Am i asking too much ?? :P :P :P

One new point just stuck. Rather than every time for mods to take action to close the thread. Can we have the feature in which a person who started it, can close it too. ???
we can report to moderator if we need to close a thread. no problem. they will check it and lock, as we request. :)
I read about all the changes thoroughly which are going to happen in few days but I am not able to understand them clearly. I am surprised to see marverick has not mentioned any thing about the people who are active on forums :laugh: . will Overall reputation be assigned as per articles written by the user and number of his/her articles been reviewed only or all activities will collectively be considered while calculating reputation. What will be the advantage when one has a high reputation here?. Will there be any benefits? or will it be just for the sake that people come to know that a particular person is having good reputation here. I feel there should be something that would motivate people to get good reputation.

What would this new system be? May we know it in detail? Yes that's for sure we need something here that could stop spamming. :)
I agree with Puneet these days many of the good articles don't get attention like in the past when all the articles used to get displayed at the top I think that previous thing was better. :)

A good idea indeed because lot of old posts with no relevance to the present are to be locked. When it comes to individual member's power to lock it, it would be better to seek the help of the moderator.

But I still have not got the answer for articles not getting viewed by the present system. As I can tell it through my experience as I just go through the articles which are on the home page. May be that's the easiest way to view articles. :)
Earlier, there is no system present to view all the articles at single please, for example browsing latest, popular etc. Now we have provided that option to browse latest, popular and trending articles at single place. This will definitely solve the issue.
And for the home page, we cannot always display all articles, there are some limitations. changing articles randomly effect on performance as it needs getting the lists everytime from DB and home page is the most viewed page. I guest I answered the query.

First implementation of the new measures. Then as we use, we ourselves will feel the utility aspects and the underlying problems. Then there is always a scope for change.
