CAG- a multi body authority

The government is considering making C&AG a multi member authority.

apparently, this is with a view to reduce importance of the C&AG. Butt this is very bizarre and funny suggestion. C & G is a constitutional authority and is head of audit department. There is very huge body of officers of Indian audit and accounts Service (I.A.A.S), an all India service. He submits his report prepared not by himself by by his department. C& A G is a designation (Comptroller & auditor General). Election commission was made multi member organization. But C&AG is not a commission like Election commission. If such ridiculous plea is accepted, the offices of President of India, Secretaries of various ministries, all heads of department will have to be multi member offices.

It is also worth mention that report of C&AG is not final. This is only a report that needs approval by Public accounts committee. which is multi member. Does this not suffice. The notion of multi member at every stage will cripple functions of the entire system and this will in fact mean anarchy of the worst type. suggestion of anarchy type from ruling quarters are very dangerous.
