That Rama was a bad husband has been criticized in Ramayana itself by a washer man.
Some people find it the best way- to be sarcastic. But they are the ones who cannot stand smallest of criticism, when some one tries to make them understand -they think they are the only ones who are right. That is bad, they should stay somewhere where difference of opinion does not exist.

The washer man believed that 'Seeta' was unchaste woman and Rama was wrong in accepting her. So, he banished her. This would have pleased washer man. But Jethmalani is not pleased. This is other way.
I totally agree with Jethmalani on his views about Rama. Rama was never a good husband and the so called Ram Sita ki joidi is just hype since they were never a really happy couple. Ram took the way out of sending her away when she needed him most being pregnant and helpless. It is not as if she had committed any sin, but to see that his image as a Fair ruler does not get tarnished Rama was ready to take any steps, only goes to show him as a very insensitive husband...
There are people who think there was no Ram or Sita, these were all imaginations of so called Tulsidas or other writers who created them. In that case there is no dispute left whatsoever. I shall not be surprised if Ram Jethmalani changes his name to get rid of this disputed name itself.

in a male dominated society of yesterday, what can we expect more from male category
I think, it's in the movie Lajja, where Madhuri Dixit did the role of a stage actress and while she was portraying the role of Sita, she asks Ram to enter fire along with him.
It was a nice scene of the movie.

Again! Link is not working now

Ram Jethmalani also believes this. He has state that Ramayana is an Epic and not history. Rama is a mythological and not historic figure. The role of Rama is that of a bad husband. I agree with ram Jethmalani. But such discussions are of no use. We need not touch the matter that may arouse sentiments.

I have just checked. The link works.

Actually some subjects and topics are attached with sentiments of people of a particular sect, those have no meaning beyond their wordy meaning but if these touch any one deep inside should better be left to his own choice. Surfacing of such matters may always bring lots of pain and to make it a little more clear, this is possible with Hindu believes only. If any one tries with any other sect, see the reaction.

I have seen Lajja which was a good film...In many such epics we see women becoming the scapegoats for men to keep their image and character intact.I guess we have to blame it on the times but this continues to happen even now with virginity test and demands and what not on girls alone during marriage...no one asks for such thing of men..

Normally Hindus play with Hindu sentiments. Others seldom do this. As Hindu, we need not play with beliefs of others. It is best not to touch religious sentiments of any in public but concentrate on real issues. It is okay to work for gender equality but it is no use to gender inequality in ancient time.
He should not say such word about God.After all Rama is a God.

But Puranas say unlike other Avatars, Ram is a human.

Everyone has freedom to hold any opinion but expression of opinion is not unrestricted. Further i Believe that any view may be expressed in private gathering or in a specialist or professional gathering but that must not be published and broadcast. Nobody should speak anything inflammatory in public meeting.

That should be left to his wisdom
Ram was a good husband. He was faithful and honest husband. He escorted his wife, Sita from demon king, Ravan. This is true that he has exiled Sita to live in the jungle. However, he himself became sad ot live without his wife, Sita. He has heart and soul loved his wife. He felt the torture and pain to live away from her and their children.

Jethmalani has no holy mind.

What people will not do to hog the limelight.

Actually many people don't understand the characters of mythology and god. That's why they do negative activities more in life.
Posts like- Let him have his opinion- Let him use his own judgment- etc. are purposeless. A member should only give an opinion with reason. If he has nothing to add in favor or against, it is useless to write. This is similar to earlier practice of some simply writing- I agree. This is a kind of spam and such posts can be deleted.
