Obviously only those interested in reading and writing are on the site. So, it is no use reiterating that any one of us is interested in reading. However, Rambabu has done well to point out benefits of reading. This is good for mental alertness. But too much of reading can also affect eye sight and shift us from world of reality to dream world of books.
We need also be conscious of the stuff that we read. Bad stuff, pornography- too much of this-, superstion promoting books will rather sicken our brain.

Most of the leaders have the habit of reading atleast a book a day. I am also interested in doing that. But I am little bit lazy.
I don't think the present leaders have the habit of reading books
To be specific, politicians who are popularly called as leaders, from what one can see have neither the intention nor the attitude to take interest in books and reading, their days are full with other matters altogether....Other leaders and intellectuals in other fields might read and keep themselves uptodate ..

Reading is one of the best habits. It helps improving your domain knowledge and general knowledge. Every parent should train their kids on this.
I always tried to skip them, even now I can't read any novel completely... though used to read news paper.. he he.. I know reading is good habit, but never thought that it can be good for health too. In fact it was increasing my stress in my college days when I was seeing lots of materials for reading. :D
Yes reading is a good habit but what to do when you don't get time. I like reading books but seldom do it due to scarcity of time. I normally prefer other ways when I am stressed. :)
